Can I attend only to the presentation?
Yes! In case you sadly cannot attend the event as a participant, we are happy to invite you to the final presentations on 30.09. – 14:00 @ Escuela Informatica
If I cannot attend every day, can I register for the Makeathon and be a part of a team?
Yes, you can take part in the Event without attending all the time. We don’t want you to skip university due to the Makeathon.
Within the registration form, you can tell us the days/times you can attend in the “I want to add something”-section.
I don't have any concrete idea about the proposed topic, can I take part?
Yes! During the first phase of the Makeathon, we will do some brainstorming to find ideas for your prototypes. If you don’t have any idea, we can help you there.
I am a first year student, can I participate?
Yes you can! 😉
Is it necessary to have a team for participating?
No, you don’t need a team. Most of the people register without a team. The first day we will create teams with the participiants, also regarding their availability during those days.
I speak very little English, can I register?
The Makeathon is an international Event, so most of the presentations will be in english language. To work in a team though, you will probably get along with some basic english, especially since you will have other spanish students to help you.
What background knowledge is necessary?
First of all: Motivation & Self-suficient work – if you have that, you can learn everything you need.
Apart from that, skills of all disciplines, such as MATLAB, CAD, C++/C#, Simulation, Construction or manual or soft skills, such as soldering and a good team work are useful.
Don’t be afraid of any lack of skills, we are doing this event to learn from each other.
Will I earn university credit or some certificate for participating? Will there be an attendance register of the enrolled students?
The Makeathon is a private and free time event in cooperacion with the university. Therefore there will be no attendance registration and we are not able to offer credits. If you like, we are happy to give you an attendance certificate, after attending the event.
I have subjects of different courses, which semester should I choose in the registration form?
Take the highest one.
Is it necessary to bring any device or hardware?
You should bring your laptop if possible. We will provide Materials, such as Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, robots, 3D Printer, Electric Car and many more. Apart from that, feel free to bring additional hardware if you have something special in mind, but it is not nececarry.
Who's organizing the Event?
We are a mixed student team from Germany and Spain in collaboration with multiple companies and unisversities – the Event is “from students – for students”.
