A few weeks ago, we told you about the Face Recognition System that is installed in our Smart Villa and we told you there were more projects there… So today we’re going to tell you about another one: our GardenBot! 🙂
David, who is in charge of the project, has given us a short summary of everything it does and how it works:
We started last summer with the GardenBot, that is a robot which takes care of your garden autonomously. It water the plants, measure the soil moisture to check the progress, it plants different crops that you have preselected, like Cherrry tomatoes, chilly peppers, strawberries, lettuces and arugulas (as we have 😉 )… It is powered by solar pannels, taking advantage of our great sunny weather 😎.
We use the GardenBot by connecting to the website to control and configure the robot using the popular protocol mqtt. The robot is made of many parts printed with our 3D printers. It is working with a Raspberry Pi that comunicates with the website and gets the information (commands, what to do in during the day…). For the control of the motors and the sensors we simply you use an arduino.
